Fitness in our heart
If you are wondering why my faith in Jesus is so important I feel the need to blog about it, I want to share a couple verses from the Bible with you.
- “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,” Romans 3:23-24 ESV
The beginning of the scripture pulls everyone from where we are and meshes us all into one category—sinners. Whether we be rich or poor, big or small, black or white, we are all sinners. That fact in life is what sets us apart from God.
- “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” John 3:16-17 ESV
Thankfully for us, God loves us so much, HE gave us a way out of eternal separation from HIS glory. There is forgiveness from our sins. We no longer have to live in the bondage of our guilt and shame.
You might be wondering at this point how this applies to our fitness journey. Let’s start by “fitness” encouraging love God has for us into our hearts. (After a quick proof reading from my wife, I have to make it clear; the word “fitness” in the last sentence actually means “fitting this.”)
